[Ever since Vanitas moved in, Ven's had a lot on his mind. Taking in the same guy who nearly killed a lot of his friends, took over his body, and caused general chaos isn't something most people would even consider.

But Ven's not like other people. He's far too nice for his own good, and what some may consider reckless he views as the 'right' thing-- especially when someone's starving and dehydrated.

So, when he opens the journal, he doesn't look or sound particularly sad-- just a little confused. Something's on his mind, if nothing else.]

Hey, guys. I've got a question... [A beat.]

Let's say you know this guy who's kind of a jerk. What's the best way to help him lighten up a bit and improve his attitude?

[Suddenly, there's another voice chiming in. One some people will probably recognize as Vanitas.]

I hear a lobotomy works wonders.

Hey!

[What follows is some shuffling, followed by a resounding SQUEAK! Probably from an inflatable hammer.]

[ooc: Italics = Vanitas. Ven's gonna be doing most of the talking, but Vanitas might make some background comments!]

I guess I'm just trying to get him to change without doing something too drastic.

...maybe you can just...bribe him. He'd go for bribes, right?

Yeah, but then he'd only act that way to get something back. I wish there was an easier way to show him that he doesn't have to fight to be happy.

[Ven's an optimist and all, but he also knows Vanitas better than a lot of people.]

Tell him that you can beat him up. That might make him not fight back.

They aren't really happy about it, but if it keeps him from hurting everybody, they're okay with it.

[Because, in a way, he's kind of like their prisoner.]

The only difference is that I took him out for the amusement park, and it's actually comfortable here. He's got the couch all to himself.

Where'd you even get that thing anyway?

Okay true. But did he actually enjoy the amusement park? I mean I saw him there but he seemed...you know, normal by Vanitas standards.

Well, he liked the roller coaster.

Riiight. That makes sense, I guess.

...seriously? [Just. This face.] Well that's a start. Which one did you take him on?

Tyr's Legacy. I thought something huge and fast would be right up his alley.

Guess you were right. I only went on that one once...it was kind of crazy.

...hey you didn't eat the beef sundae, did you?

[... That's weird. Ven was probably too busy eating normal ice cream.]

That's what he was eating when I found him...I mean it wasn't bad, but it was pretty weird.

Was it actually ice cream, or just beef in an ice cream dish?

It was like beef with potatoes and gravy with a cherry tomato on top.

It wasn't! ...it just got kind of bad when it got cold. Cold potatoes and gravy doesn't taste the same.

Cold potatoes don't feel the same, either. Sure you can heat 'em up, but they're still better fresh.

Exactly. Vanitas' leftovers just didn't do it for me. I'm glad you understand though.
