[Ever since Ven returned to the village he's been on-edge... to put it lightly. Between the draft and his encounter with Vanitas, he's not only exhausted, but pretty scared at this point.

That's why, as he's making his way through the village and back towards his house, he's carrying his Keyblade with him and stopping occasionally just to make sure he's not being followed.

Just don't be surprised if he's a bit jumpy; kid's got a lot on his mind.

And when he finally makes it back home...]

You know, fighting a real war's nothing like fighting the Unversed. It's way more serious, and people die out there, on both sides... It's dangerous and kinda scary.

[He pauses for a few seconds.]

But I'm glad I could help. Even if what the Malnosso do is wrong, that battle was about more than just them. Plus, it feels good protecting people; it's a better reason to fight than just killing.

[And with that off his chest...]

Start a war? Starting a war here would be useless.

Yeah. I don't think Vanitas wants to start a war here, but he still might use its power to hurt people.

If I may have a moment to speak, there's actually someone from my home whom is here that has the same mindset as Vanitas.

Really?

[Well, that's not good. Immediately, Ven frowns, far from pleased by this revelation.]

His name is Count Waltz. I do not know if you have met, but I would advise against it. Back in my world, he invented a cure all "medicine" for his people in Forte known as mineral powder. Eventually we found out was that Waltz was actually using this mineral powder to make mindless soldiers out of his people in order to start a war with the neighboring country of Baroque. [He'll sigh.] I do not know if Waltz will try to make another mineral powder here or not, but I'm certain he's only being kind to others in order to gain their trust so he may use them as soldiers.

[The name doesn't sound familiar, but with as many people he's talked to, there's always a possibility. For a moment, Ven quietly listens to Chopin's description, but by the end of it, he's looking very upset.]

How could he do something like that? He shouldn't force people to be his slaves!

[And deceiving people too? Oh, that's just another thing that goes against his morals.]

Waltz believes in having absolute power, that having it will make him remembered for all eternity even after his death. So anyone who does not have power, he believes is weak and will die without being remembered. [He can now see Ven's expression and shakes his head.] I'm deeply sorry Ventus, I did not mean to upset you.

No, that's okay.

[He sighs. There's no way he could understand that kind of ideology.]

But I don't see why he would think that. Isn't who you are and what you do more important than what kinda powers you have?

His ideology is not exactly the most sane, yet he won't refuse to change them nor can any compromise with him.

Some people are stubborn. Vanitas is like that, too. Like... he really hates friendship and thinks it's a waste of time, but I bet he only thinks that because he's never given it a chance.

But I doubt he ever will.

People such as Waltz and Vanitas are hard to understand, they seem to enjoy being who they are.

Maybe they don't know any better. Guess all we can do is guess, huh?

Well eventually I do plan on taking care of Waltz, I won't allow him to harm anyone.
