[He's been staring at his journal for a while, just trying to find the right words. It's... difficult, in part because he's so surprised and also due to sadness.

When Ven speaks into the journal, he tries to hide his disappointment; as a result, he sounds pretty strained.]

Hey, guys. Looks like it's December now, which means Christmas is right around the corner. I heard about a party over the journals, but does anyone else have something fun planned? If it's anything like last year, we'll probably get a ton of snow. A big snowball fight could be fun. Just an idea.

[He sighs. This isn't working...]

Terra's gone. After all this time, I didn't think he'd... [A beat.]

Does anyone wanna hang out? Or do something? I think I need a distraction right now.

[There, at least he's being honest. And with that, he'll probably check up on his housemates (especially Vanitas) and then head out into the village for a bit. He might be wandering a little aimlessly. He'll be just about everywhere before he returns back to the house.

Care to cheer him up? Or antagonize him? Anything goes!]

[Both ways could work. Belly against the ground would be easier, but if they could get it to look just right, having it supported by legs would be pretty cool.

Ven places one hand to his chin, thinking this over.]

I think both ways could work pretty well. Guess it's just a matter of how much work we wanna put into this.

Well? We could always try it with the legs, and if that doesn't work, just use the belly. After all, it's not like we've got a time limit or anything. We can make this as cool as we want.

Heck, we could do both! Who says we've gotta stick to one dragon?

[They could make a whole ton if they wanted to!]

Exactly! We could make a whole dragon army. Toothless might get jealous, but he'll get over it when he realizes they can't even breathe fire.

Well, Toothless still gets bonus points for being a real dragon.

[Who can fly and do all kinds of cool stuff. What's not to like?]

At least these dragons don't eat all the fish in the shop within ten seconds.

[And he sets to work on a snow dragon!]

Toothless must have a huge appetite.

[He laughs and starts working on his own snow dragon.]

...Yeah, he does, really. He's not even that big of a dragon, compared to the others. But he eats more than any of the rest of them.

Maybe he uses up a lot of energy! Sometimes when you do a lot of exercise, you get hungry.

[It's just a thought. Now, let's see... this dragon's gonna be a big one. Hopefully.]

I don't know. He's a pretty lazy dragon. [He laughs.] But he does eat even more when he's been out flying. We don't exactly have anatomy references where I come from, so I'm not even sure how big his stomach is or anything like that.

Well, maybe he just likes the taste.

[Ven shrugs, working on the legs of his snow dragon. Gotta make sure they're bulky enough to support the body.]

He think he loves the taste. That's probably part of it, too. It's not the only thing he eats, but it's definitely his main diet.

[And Hiccup works on some legs, too, patting down the snow so it stays nice and tight.]

At least there's plenty of fish to go around. Especially since it's all free.

[Hmm, okay. Once he gets some stable legs down, he'll start rolling up a big snowball to start the torso.]

Definitely. Toothless would have made me go broke long ago if we actually had to pay for all those fish.

And I bet the rivers would be fresh outta fish, too.

They would. It's probably a good thing we've only been fishing a few times.

It'd probably be hard to catch 'em right now, anyway. The lakes are starting to freeze up.

[Okay, front torso snowball is looking fine. Time to place it on the front legs and hope it doesn't collapse.]

[He nods, starting to pat down a torso for his dragon.]

Yeah. Which...is fine, because I'm not a great fisher. But Toothless likes the fresh river fish better. So I guess it's a bit of trade-off.

Maybe you could get him some as a treat every once in a while.

[Assuming he doesn't already do that.]

I try to. He's actually gone with Sokka a few times. He's a much better fisher than I am. Plus I think it does Toothless good to get to know people around here a little better.

[...And shaping up that torso.] ...I think he's inclined to sort of...distrust everyone here.

Maybe it's because he's a dragon.

[Ven frowns.]

A lot of people might see him and think he's dangerous before they get to know him.

Yeah. Plus he never knows what to expect. On Berk, everyone's a viking, and Toothless is used to vikings. But here? No luck. Iiii don't think it helps that he got brainwashed, either.

Brainwashed?

[Okay, he's pausing in his dragon building for a second. This sounds... pretty serious.]

...Yeah. [It's not something he loves explaining, but people should be aware this sort of thing can happen...] When I was kidnapped, a few months back? Toothless wandered away because no one was around to feed him.

And...he got brainwashed. And totally forgot who he was. And...me, too.
