[Ever since Vanitas moved in, Ven's had a lot on his mind. Taking in the same guy who nearly killed a lot of his friends, took over his body, and caused general chaos isn't something most people would even consider.

But Ven's not like other people. He's far too nice for his own good, and what some may consider reckless he views as the 'right' thing-- especially when someone's starving and dehydrated.

So, when he opens the journal, he doesn't look or sound particularly sad-- just a little confused. Something's on his mind, if nothing else.]

Hey, guys. I've got a question... [A beat.]

Let's say you know this guy who's kind of a jerk. What's the best way to help him lighten up a bit and improve his attitude?

[Suddenly, there's another voice chiming in. One some people will probably recognize as Vanitas.]

I hear a lobotomy works wonders.

Hey!

[What follows is some shuffling, followed by a resounding SQUEAK! Probably from an inflatable hammer.]

[ooc: Italics = Vanitas. Ven's gonna be doing most of the talking, but Vanitas might make some background comments!]

That's what I'm trying to avoid. Sure, it'd be nice if it happened overnight, but I know better than to expect it. And the last thing I'd want is to make him uncomfortable, even if he did do so many terrible things.

[A beat. He sighs, but when he speaks again, he does sound pretty relieved.]

When you consider a world like Luceti, there aren't that many options.

Instead of the easy route, it says a lot about you for taking this path. Have you figured out what his likes are, yet?

[Aw, shucks. That's really flattering of her to say.]

No luck. I know he likes roller coasters, but now that the amusment park's gone, it's hard to get him to do anything. He won't even listen to music.

Hm... He seems like the kind of guy who'd love to be outdoors instead of inside. Have you tried sports, yet?

Not yet, but that sounds like a pretty good idea. I'd just have to go slow, since he's still getting used to being blind.

[A beat.]

But maybe some competition's just what he needs.

Heh, I wouldn't put it past him.

Maybe he'll learn sportsmanship that way, too. It doesn't hurt to try.

It's better than sitting around the house all day. He's gotta be bored by now.

Anyone would be. I'm surprised he's been idle for this long already, from what I've heard about him.

Oh, oh! How about a punching bag? If he's ever angry, I'm sure that'll help subsidise things by a good bit.

A punching bag? You know, that might actually work. It'd keep him in shape and give him something to beat up without hurting anybody.

They're actually replaceable, too! Perfect for alleviating all his frustrations.

Yep. And maybe after a while, he won't need to go out and cause trouble. Not when he can just beat up the punching bag for a while.

[A beat.]

I could get him a training dummy, too.

Any maybe when he behaves, he could move onto actual sparring partners. I wouldn't mind volunteering for that.

Really?

[Aw, that's nice of her, but...]

Um, just gotta warn you, Minako. He's kinda mad that we spend so much time together, so you'd have to be extra careful. I'm sure you could handle it, though! You're strong.

...

Why would he be mad? Is he jealous of me for taking you away so often? ... And in all seriousness, don't worry. I'll be fine. I've heard what he's capable of, but this is only a prospect for the future for now.

[... Pausing. For um. A minute. Well, not a minute.

More like ten seconds? Yeah, something like that.]

Vanitas can feel everything I do, so whenever I'm in a good mood, it affects him. He hates it, since those aren't his feelings.

And it's even worse when I'm with friends.
