[Ever since Vanitas moved in, Ven's had a lot on his mind. Taking in the same guy who nearly killed a lot of his friends, took over his body, and caused general chaos isn't something most people would even consider.

But Ven's not like other people. He's far too nice for his own good, and what some may consider reckless he views as the 'right' thing-- especially when someone's starving and dehydrated.

So, when he opens the journal, he doesn't look or sound particularly sad-- just a little confused. Something's on his mind, if nothing else.]

Hey, guys. I've got a question... [A beat.]

Let's say you know this guy who's kind of a jerk. What's the best way to help him lighten up a bit and improve his attitude?

[Suddenly, there's another voice chiming in. One some people will probably recognize as Vanitas.]

I hear a lobotomy works wonders.

Hey!

[What follows is some shuffling, followed by a resounding SQUEAK! Probably from an inflatable hammer.]

[ooc: Italics = Vanitas. Ven's gonna be doing most of the talking, but Vanitas might make some background comments!]

I'd suggest jogging, but you'd probably need some help with that.

Well, you're not making this easy. Isn't there anything you could do that doesn't involve violence or crazy rides?

[He sighs.]

I guess there's always the battle dome. It can simulate all kinds of stuff...

...Which would almost be alright, if I could see.

Face it, Ventus. You know absolutely nothing about me, and you never will.

Maybe I would if you told me.

[He sounds really upset now. Way to go.]

I want to understand you better. Really.

[C'mon, Vanitas. Stop hiding everything.]

Because I know I've caused you a lot of trouble. I didn't accept the darkness, and you're affected by the things I feel, even if you don't wanna be. It's not fair to you. Plus, you're my darkness.

But fine. You really wanna know the truth?

All you know is the Master who created you, and nothing more. You're alone for four years. What do you do?

[He doesn't say anything at first. He's too busy trying to imagine this...

And then he droops, looking down at the ground.]

I'd probably go crazy. No friends, and nothing to do but fight... I can't even imagine what that'd be like.

Then don't try to.

[Guess who's following? Ven's following! What a derp.]

But you don't have to fight anymore, either. Master Xehanort isn't here-- you could do anything you want.

[A beat.]

You're not his puppet now.

And he didn't force me to do anything I didn't already want to do.

You don't have to be like me. I know you'd hate that more than anything. But if you keep going after people, they'll keep having to stop you. Do you really want that, Vanitas?

A lot worse. They can take anything away, Vanitas. What if they made it so you couldn't walk? Or couldn't move your arms...

[He feels really uneasy just thinking about this.]

[Ven huffs, and he crosses his arms.]

I don't believe you. You're probably just saying that because it's me you're talking to.

[Sigh. He's still not giving up... but he might let that issue drop, as he wanders into the living room as well.]
