[Ever since Vanitas moved in, Ven's had a lot on his mind. Taking in the same guy who nearly killed a lot of his friends, took over his body, and caused general chaos isn't something most people would even consider.

But Ven's not like other people. He's far too nice for his own good, and what some may consider reckless he views as the 'right' thing-- especially when someone's starving and dehydrated.

So, when he opens the journal, he doesn't look or sound particularly sad-- just a little confused. Something's on his mind, if nothing else.]

Hey, guys. I've got a question... [A beat.]

Let's say you know this guy who's kind of a jerk. What's the best way to help him lighten up a bit and improve his attitude?

[Suddenly, there's another voice chiming in. One some people will probably recognize as Vanitas.]

I hear a lobotomy works wonders.

Hey!

[What follows is some shuffling, followed by a resounding SQUEAK! Probably from an inflatable hammer.]

[ooc: Italics = Vanitas. Ven's gonna be doing most of the talking, but Vanitas might make some background comments!]

Well, too late for that now. He'll deal.]

I know it'll be hard, but I think anyone can change. Some people are just tougher than others.

[Knowing would have been nice B|]

It's almost near impossible for him. Remembering what you had told me before, he contains nothing but darkness--negative or malicious emotions. Do you honestly expect him to turn into a light hearted person?

I don't expect him to change completely... just improve. At least get to a point where he's not hurting people.

People who do others harm for the mere fun of it aren't likely to stop. Their actions may cease for a period of time but their aggressive and sadist behavior will not disappear.

Just because it's not likely doesn't make it impossible. He's already gotten a little better, and I'm sure I can get through to him somehow.

[Have a small sigh Ven.

As much as she wants to keep telling him that Vanitas will never change, she has to admit that he's right. He did come from Ven's heart so if anyone can change him or as he said, help him improve, then it has to be him.]

How exactly has he gotten better?

He's a lot calmer now, and he's not as mean as he used to be. Still kind of a jerk, but he's gotten better about it.

[There's a pause.]

... I did save his life, though.

How did you save him?

I found him out by the school. He was starving and dehydrated, and since he was blind, he couldn't take care of himself.

Even if what he did was wrong, I couldn't leave him to die.

[Oh Ven you're too nice. As good of a trait that is, it can also be taken advantage of so she's a little worried about him with Vanitas around. But at least she knows why he's calm and hasn't heard of him causing any chaos lately]

And now he's living with you, under your care and supervision, correct?

That's right. I've been keeping an eye on him and making sure he doesn't cause too much trouble.

[There's a long pause as Naoto thinks this over. It's good that Ven is doing this (kinda) but she still doesn't trust Vanitas. Even if he is missing his eye sight...]

...Ven, can you at least promise me one thing if you intend to go through with this, rehabilitation?

Sure, Naoto. What is it?

...Promise me you'll be careful. I don't trust him..

[:c pretty please]

[Aw, Naoto. He understands.]

Don't worry. I know what I'm getting into, and I'm not gonna let him get the best of me.
