I'm sure some of you heard what happened to Axel. He got attacked and almost died.

Well, the person who hurt him's name is Vanitas. He wears a mask and armor all the time, and he can use a Keyblade. If you see him around, be careful; he's really dangerous, and I don't want anyone else to get hurt!

[With that little warning out of the way, he's highly considering closing his journal, but after a moment he adds:]

What do you think it means if someone looks just like you?

[Shortly after he finishes his message, Ven can be found outside, wearing his armor. That's not all, though; rather than travel around on foot, Ven's decided to use the rooftops to his advantage, gliding from roof to roof in order to see if he can spot Vanitas. If you're sleeping, don't mind any thuds that might occur from him making a landing. It's for a good cause!]

[Slowly, he's trying to pull himself back up so he can continue to fight.]

Even if I don't know him that well, he seems like a good person. He's never done anything to make me think otherwise.

Well, everyone's gotta start somewhere.

[He winces; fortunately, the armor lessens the pain.

With his other hand, he raises his Keyblade and then...]

Drift!

[Sorry, man. It's nothing personal.]

[Excellent! This gives Ven enough time to get back onto the roof and start hammering Vanitas with his Keyblade.]

[Ven takes a few hits before he blocks right back and dodge rolls to the side. He's not sure what Vanitas is planning, but he'll stand his ground just to be safe.]

[The illusion definitely confuses him, even if he knew about the trick from before. Though Ven tries to block and fight back, it's hard to get him while he pulls these stunts.

Ven takes several hits before he tightens his grip on the Keyblade and starts warping himself! Time splicer certainly comes in handy when he's stuck in tight spots like this.]

[By the time Ven's done teleporting, he doesn't have time to dodge. The blizzaga sends him over the edge and onto the ground with a THUD.]

[Unlike Vanitas, Ven doesn't have superhuman endurance, which leaves him perfectly open for attacks at the moment.]

Get up.

[Groaning, Ven pushes himself back to his feet.]

Heal!

[And with that, he feels a bit better. He'd be a lot better if it wasn't for the power cap, but he'll just have to make do.

Once that's settled, he casts some crawling fire. What fun!]

I don't like the way you treat everyone. How is it that you can almost kill someone, and it doesn't even bother you?

Maybe it's their destiny to die. To sacrifice their lives for a greater goal.

I'm just helping them find their way.

Axel's destiny isn't to die! I bet you just attacked him for fun!

[He huffs and charges at Van's side. Maybe he's being a little reckless, but somebody has to do something about him!]

Oh, it was lots of fun.

You should've seen the look on his face when he realized he couldn't win. Almost makes up for that girl busting in and ruining everything.

[Dodge roll, followed up by another strike raid!]

You freak!

[Boy, doesn't that sound familiar?]

[Ven blocks, moving to the side again and retaliating with Aeroga. At least this attack is big enough to trap him!]

[And what does Ven do?

He shoots more firaga! That should do it!
