[It wasn't hard to tell when he woke up that morning that something was amiss. He'd been so used to seeing her around the house that when he stumbled upon Aqua's empty room, he knew exactly what had happened. After all, it'd happened before. Twice.

But rather than open his journal to lament over another lost friend, Ven opts to scoop it up and climb out onto the roof, where he gazes up at the sky at nothing in particular. Once the words come to mind, he finally addresses the journal.]

You know, I've been here for a really long time now, and I've seen loads of people come and go. My best friends have been here at least twice now, but now I'm the only one left. It's kinda crazy to think about... I mean, I remember when the three of us were inseparable.

[Granted, he still believes that their connections will bring them back together. Nothing's ever gonna change that, but it's still... sad.]

How do you guys handle that? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's seen friends go or come and go a bunch of times, only to forget this place when they come back. And would you rather have 'em here with you, or do you think it's better if they leave?

I've always thought that, as long as you keep your friends in your heart, they'll always be right there with you, but that sure doesn't stop me from missing 'em.

Do we have any solid-solid proof? Do we have anybody who's gone home, come back and said they remembered everything about this place?

Well, what about the people who leave and then come back with all their memories?

Doesn't mean anything. For all we know, they're just being moved to another enclosure instead of being sent home.

But don't they usually remember being sent home?

Depends if their memories have been tampered with. [He's very passionate about this. If people from his world could do a memory wipe and dump him in a digital town and make him believe he'd lived there his whole life...who's to say the Malnosso couldn't?]

I dunno, Roxas. I mean, I guess it's possible, but it seems like a lot of work on their part.

[And would the Malnosso really go that far?

... probably.]

That's never stopped people before. That's all I'm saying.

I guess it's not any stranger than some of the other stuff they've done before...

Still, what about the people who disappear for a really long time or come back younger than before?

There's no limit to their skills. That's the one thing I've learned while being here. We just...we just have to get better about recognizing the signs.

So it's all about finding clues in advance, right?

Exactly. You're good at figuring things out sometimes, aren't you?

Um... I guess so. It never really crossed my mind.

I'm thinking about doing something fun to kick off the summer...what do you know about ice cream?

Well, back in Disney Town, I helped with their ice cream machine, and I've whipped up a few different flavors before.

Disney Town? [He's not familiar with that world, hold on.] What was the ice cream machine like?

Well, it was bright and colorful.

[...then again, everything there is.]

And it could shoot tons of ice cream scoops.

...really. [Now you've got his attention.] I mean I was thinking that we'd just set up an ice cream stand, but that's even better.

Really.

[...The fact that Roxas is interested is totally awesome.]

Basically, you use the machine to shoot a whole bunch of scoops onto cones, but you've gotta match the beat to this really catchy music. It's like a game, and you get to eat the ice cream later.

So who's holding the cones? And where does the music come from?

Well, Huey, Dewey, and Louie held onto the cones and took care of the dancing. As for the music...

[Give him a second.]

You know, I never stopped to ask. Maybe it was backstage?

...I'm not too crazy about dancing, but maybe we can figure out something similar. What do you think?
