Hey, can anyone hear me? I heard some voices coming from this journal, so I hope I'm doing this right.

[A beat.]

Anyway, my name's Ventus, and I've got a quick question. Could anyone tell me about this place? It looks like I'm in a forest, but I don't see any people around. Truth is, I'm kinda lost.

[Those in the forest are sure to find this derp wandering around in new feather garb. He stops every once in a while to look around, occasionally scratching his head.

It's odd. While he's used to world travel and even changes brought on by it to a degree, the fact that he showed up in this world without any of his belongings or the Star Shard. His clothes, his armor, and even the Star Shard just up and disappeared, which makes no sense.

So what's he doing? Well, given the way he's aimlessly making his way through the forest, he's either a) really lost, b) looking for something, or c) a combination of both!]

Man, I wonder what happened. Did somebody steal it?

[And what is this "it"? Should anyone encounter Ventus, he might just explain! For now, he'll continue on his way.]

[He stops in his tracks, turning to face Axel.

And then he squints. Something about this guy is familiar. Really familiar, but it can't be... right?]

Well, I guess they could've been stolen. I don't know why anyone would take my clothes, though.

Well it wasn't me. This time any— [Wait. The wing color is slightly different. Axel's walking closer to give Ventus a closer look.]

They snatch you last night without me realizing it? They didn't keep you long.

[Wait. No seriously, wait just a second. This isn't Roxas, is it? He doesn't even really act like Roxas.

[If Axel had a heart, it probably would have dropped to his stomach right now upon the realization that this isn't Roxas. It's... Ventus. He's kinda glad to see him but at the same time...

Axel quickly turns away from Ventus and draws his hood up over his head.]

My bad. Wrong person.

Ven frowns and takes a step closer to Axel.]

Hey, are you okay?

Nah, I'm fine. Just, er, someone else will help ya out. All right?

Kinda! Was just wandering and I thought I saw 'em. You just get here?

[He's still keeping his back to Ven.]

[He glances back over his shoulder.]

You're not far from the village. You should go there.

[Axel would really, really like to just ditch Ventus here. He's in too much of shock and not even sure how to take this all right now. So his first reaction is to get the heck out of there. ...but, he can't just leave him. Sigh.]

[And without another word Axel starts walking, motioning for Ven to follow. Man this is awkward.]

The silence gets kind of awkward for him eventually, though, so he'll break the silence and make small talk.]

Axel, got it—uh. It's Axel.

[Crap. This is going to be hard to keep who he is a secret, isn't it.]

[All right. He's not going to be able to do this. Axel sighs then stops and pulls his hood back off, turning to face Ven again.]

Noooot really surprising. Lea, right?

Yeah, but how'd you know?

[Unless he really is Lea... It'd kind of make sense, anyway.]

Well, a long time ago I used to be him. Long story.

[That's odd. He scratches his head, giving Axel a questioning look.]

But what do you mean? Did you just get tired of your name?

Heh, not that simple. I'm not really him anymore. I'm what's left after Lea lost his heart.

[Pardon Ventus here if he looks shocked, but...]

But how could you lose your heart?

Kinda what happens when it gets corrupted by darkness. It gets turned into a monster called a Heartless, and whatever is left gets turned into a Nobody. That'd be me. 'Cept most Nobodies don't look like me. Only people who had strong hearts get to keep a human-like appearance.
